增加點東西,新版本有玩家反應multichallenge ban的問題以下是一位玩家的留言
This is ridiculous.
I got banned for sending 3 challenges and couldn't log back in for about 4 hours (waste of time on a saturday is really nice)
Sometimes the client doesn't connect, even in the FAQ it says "If it has trouble connecting, send multiple challenges"
So I send multiple challenges and now its bannable?
這應該是新版的新功能,一次向多個玩家傳送多次挑戰或同一個玩家傳送多次挑戰的話系統會ban你的帳號,請各位注意一下不然上了去也不能玩
GGPO is the most popular FREE match making service in NA. There are 500~1000 people online at any given time.
Does everyone sending multi challenge bog down the server as well? That's the question.
So all 1000 people trying to get their games going. Oops it won't connect, let's send another one, while the server is busy serving requests to the other people.
GGPO used to be very bad. You have to send 3~10 challenges to get a game going. It's not like you can always get a game on your first try now, but it's much better than before. I can usually get it with 2 challenges with a 75% success rate.
Now of course the best solution is the increase the server capacity. I think just having one server is not enough. But distributed programming / load balancing is not easy like just buy another server and power it up.
Also, I think we can keep the 2 challenges limit, but the FRONT END also needs to be updated to prevent people accidentally send more than 2 and ban themselves without knowing what they are doing. I think this is the biggest problem (ie. the front end allows you to do this yet it will get you banned).
