Well Played Cup, which took place in Tokyo, Japan on August 14th, has concluded and Japan's Mago has taken 1st place! This is Mago's second first place finish in a Ranking Event in the 2016 Capcom Pro Tour season, having won TWFighter Major 2016 in June. BST|Daigo Umehara took 2nd place and HM|Go1 took 3rd. (a) If a player wins a Regional Ranking Event and is already qualified for the corresponding Regional Finals by either winning another corresponding Regional Ranking Event, Regional Finals Last Chance Qualifier, or Online Event, the player who is placed next highest in such Regional Ranking Event and is not otherwise qualified will qualify for the corresponding Regional Finals.
(a) If a player who has previously won Evolution, a Global Premier Event, or a Regional Finals wins another Global Premier Event, Evolution or Regional Final, an additional qualifying spot will open up to the Global Ranking Point Leaderboard (but not to the Regional Ranking Point Leaderboards), instead of qualifying the player who wins the next highest ranking of such Global Premier Event, Evolution or Regional Final.
